Tuscany Wedding

Tuscany is one of those places that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a movie. Golden sunlight across rolling hills, vineyards stretching as far as the eye can see, and quiet towns where time seems to slow down. When Lauren and James reached out via Instagram, I was immediately excited. Lauren had a very clear vision for their photos and shared it in the most thoughtful way – through a Pinterest board full of light, movement, and moments she wanted to capture. I loved seeing her ideas and knew we could bring them to life together, blending cinematic emotion with editorial elegance.

Traveling sustainably to Tuscany

As always, I try to travel with a low CO₂ footprint, so I took the night train to Tuscany. Arriving a day early in Castiglion Fiorentino, a small town near Arezzo, gave me time to settle in, enjoy the view, and meet Tosca from Palazzo Robicci, where I stayed. That evening, I joined Lauren, James, and their closest friends for a relaxed dinner, including a friend who had traveled all the way from Australia. It was cozy, filled with laughter, and set the tone for the intimate weekend ahead.

Preparing for the day

Although Lauren and James had their own wedding planners, I helped fine-tune their day for photography. I shared advice on light, timing, and how to move through locations to make the most of each moment. Lauren’s Pinterest board inspired the editorial style of the photos, and I spent time planning how to capture her vision while keeping it natural and cinematic.

Getting Ready and First Look at Villa La Guardata

The next morning, I arrived at Villa La Guardata, a stunning hilltop villa with panoramic views of Tuscany. James had his moment first. We took some relaxed photos around the villa and pool to help him ease in front of the camera. He was a natural, and capturing candid, cinematic images came effortlessly.

Later, I joined Lauren for her preparations. Her makeup was beautifully done by Ayna, and her dress, a second-hand treasure, was reassembled, pinned, and draped exactly to her wishes by Code Bridal – every fold and detail perfectly shaped for her. Even though we were slightly behind schedule, she radiated calm and joy, ready for the magical day ahead. Soon after, they hopped in the car to head to their ceremony location.

Tuscany Venue

Lauren and James were married at Buccelletti Casali & Cantina, in a large pavilion surrounded by vineyards. The moment Lauren walked down the aisle with her friend by her side was unforgettable. With an officiant guiding the ceremony, they exchanged heartfelt vows, rings, and shared their first kiss. Everyone present, myself included, couldn’t help but be moved – laughter and tears mingled in the most beautiful way.

Intimate celebration

After the ceremony, we captured couple and group photos around the vineyard and villa. That evening, Lauren and James returned to their villa to a beautifully set table, complete with candles and lights. A private chef prepared delicious pasta, and their small group of friends shared a night full of laughter, heartfelt conversations, and cozy moments together.

A last morning in Castiglion Fiorentino

The next morning, we took a few final couple shots around Castiglion Fiorentino, making the most of the soft Tuscan light. Afterwards, I boarded the night train back home, carrying memories of a weekend full of warmth, joy, and cinematic moments under the Tuscan sun. Thank you so much for having me!

IN THEIR OWN WORDS

  • “Working with Selina is one of the best decisions we made for our elopement.

From the start, her eye for detail and calm demeanour set us at ease. We communicated in the run up to the wedding, sharing inspiration pics so we both had a clear idea of what we wanted to achieve and Selina surpassed our expectations!

The pictures turned out perfectly and really captured not only the day, but the energy and personality of everyone involved. Some of my favourite pictures are of our guests laughing, I finally have the true them captured in a photo!

Not only that but Selina also blended so perfectly into the day, we couldn’t imagine our wedding without her.

We’re so excited to get our favourite pictures printed and hung at home, they’re not traditional wedding pictures but more like pieces of art. Thank you Selina for everything you did and how much you contributed to our special day”
